Pushkar Fair

The fair starts on the eighth day and ends on the full moon day (Poornima) as per the lunar (HINDU) calendar. This important Pushkar Camel Fair attracts tourists and travelers like devotees, musicians, acrobats, folk dancers, cattle traders, comedians, Sadhus (saints), etc dressed in beautiful colorful and bright attires.
 The key point of this fair is the trading of camel and cattle trading, especially during the first half of the fair. In the second half of the Pushkar Fair, trading takes a back seat and the front stage is given to religious activities attracting devotees from all over the country. The fair witnesses a comprehensive alteration of the small town of Pushkar into a magnificent fair ground. Exhibited on rows upon rows of short-term stalls, is an array of objects ranging from arts and crafts to the items of daily utilization.
